Seeing my face reflected on a museum’s walls so prevalently is always fairly unexpected, but especially so in a museum in Northwest Arkansas. Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art is doing the work to make our most important cultural spaces equitable and inclusive, and I was genuinely touched to see these works and many more given priority throughout their galleries, not just tucked away into dedicated Black and indigenous specific rooms
