The Baby Dolls, a legacy of women reclaiming their bodies and identities in a society that would erase both. I came upon each of these ladies separately and asked if they’d do me the pleasure of taking a photograph. “Let me hide my lil’ drink,” the gorgeous Doll in blue & gold joked while she started to tuck her cup behind her umbrella. But a lady can’t put her glass on the ground, so for a moment, she was a bit flustered. Wasn’t long though, because right quick, she sucked her teeth and announced, “You know what…” 😂💀

She’s the Baby Doll sponsor of the beauty dressed in all blue (R), who was so proud and eager to introduce us that I didn’t have the heart to tell her we’d already met. I did, however, take the opportunity to photograph them together, glorifying each other, radiating in the other’s light, and preserving this tradition within a tradition oh so beautifully. 💙
