DAY OF THE DEAD

They say you can’t take it with you, but the folks buried here in Bonaventure Cemetery sure damn well took it as close as they could. And still, sometimes, Mother Nature takes it back. A fitting way to say my goodbyes to Savannah. #CosmosMariner

ON ISLAND TIME

A little snippet of all the sights Moose (and my trusty golf cart
) treated me to around Daufuskie.
(Not pictured: the handful of original Gullah descendants still living on the island, who greeted me enthusiastically everywhere I went.

LOVE CONNECTION

Horses Love Me: A Tale in Three Parts

This is Moose, everybody. We locked eyes and I paid him a compliment before I knew he was “mine,” then we took a gorgeous ride on Daufuskie Beach between Tybee and Hilton Head. Now he thinks he’s my boyfriend.
(Please don’t tell him about Copper and Tank. He’s sensitive.)

BEACH BUNNY BLUNDERS

Beach babing at Tybee Island just outside of Savannah, even though we forgot our beach bag & cute little suit at the rental (v UN-beach babe
)
Got plenty of attention and sunshine without it

Edited to add:
“Attention” includes but is not limited to:
– Two sweet old ladies with huge hats in lawn chairs, one of whom stared at me all the way up the beach until I reached their spot and finally said, “I’m sorry, I know I’m staring but you are BEAUTIFUL.”
– A couple of guys in their mid/late 20’s (ish?) who’d been unintentionally photobombing my spot for at least 5 minutes, who finally came out of the water, packed their stuff and yelled out “YOU’RE DOING GREAT!” as they passed.
– Flirty waves from a WHOLE LOT of somebodies’ grandpas.

SIMPLY SAVANNAH

Since my first day in Savannah last Saturday, all I’ve done is daydrink, shop, look at pretty old buildings, eat, and repeat.
So here’s me before I’m tipsy, broke, full, and tired.
Pics taken during the aforementioned circumstances still to come

WAKING UP TO WONDERS
I woke up yesterday in a new time zone and a new decade. I once told someone I met in my travels that in a hundred lifetimes, I could never see all of the world’s wonders. I’m thankful to be able to make the most of this one, today in the Hostess City of the South.
