RIDIN’ & ROAMIN’

Moseyed over to the stables at Dogwood Canyon for a ride with the lady wranglers. Then spent 2.5 hours making my new friend Tank fall so in love that he laid his head on my chest to say goodbye

BARGAIN TOURISM
Drove an hour to spend $20 at Dogwood Canyon yesterday and all I got to see was this.

LEFT MY HEART IN A MUSEUM PT. 2
Giant Chihuly pieces and other sculptures dotted Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and its grounds, creating such compelling combinations of natural and man-made beauty. I feel lucky to have been here.

LEFT MY HEART IN A MUSEUM

There’ve been a lot of museums I wanted to spend days at, but very few that I actually NEEDED to. Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art has one of the most unique collections I’ve seen on massive grounds, and it was an absolute delight indoors and out. Here’s a few of my indoor favorites ❤

SNOW DAY

I’d planned to finish showing off the places New Orleans took me, but Austin decided this is what we’re doing today.

LAGNIAPPE NEW YEAR
In Louisiana, they have what’s called “lagniappe,” which is basically little gifts of gratitude, i.e. free stuff. It’s usually some small trinket or tchotchke, like in this case, #HappyNewYear beads.
But play ya cards right and be extra nice to your hard working service-people and your lagniappe might be NYE beads draped over a pouch of Coconut Crème Pina Colada. 🤗🌟✨

JOYEUX NOËL
The rounds have been made, the votes tallied, and the unofficial winners of my v unofficial French Quarter hotel holiday lights competition are…
The Roosevelt and the Monteleone!

Scroll for the outtakes with a new face and a familiar one too.

(P.S. I have no idea who that cowboy is. He just wanted his picture taken.) 😂🤗

MARIGNY & ME

Currently: waiting out the rain (and probably the traffic too) in front of the Marigny Opera House, eating a buttermilk biscuit so big it barely fit in a to-go container and drinking the leftovers of this morning’s 12oz mimosa.
So maybe not living my BEST life, but I mean…

WHISKEY WEDNESDAY

Yesterday, I accidentally stumbled upon Whiskey Wednesday at one of my New Orleans favorites.
And that’s when I discovered that the only downside of Whiskey Wednesdays alone is no one to confirm whether that smell is the hand sanitizer, or you.
